Christoph Hindermann

Christoph Hindermann was born in 1948 in Basel. The trained carpenter worked in various carpentry businesses before he studied interior design in 1970 at the School of Design in Basel. After his activity as an interior designer (amongst others with Ralph Hiestand Wohndesign in Horgen),he founded together with Adalbert Lamprecht a planning office for interior decoration and design with registered offices in Basel and Bad Säckingen, Germany in 1982. After six years the partners separated, and in 1988 Christoph Hindermann founded the Hindermann Office Basel. The successful interior decorator and designer, who held a chair at the School of Design in Basel for nine years, designed numerous award-winning furniture pieces: amongst other things the chairs Sparta, Orta, Tila and Satu for Dietiker. In 2007, the latter was awarded the Gold Award from Iidex Neocon, Canada.
