Edlef Bandixen

Edlef Bandixen was born in 1927 in Bredstedt, Germany. He has been a Swiss citizen since 1972. The trained carpenter studied to be an interior designer at the University of Applied Sciences in Detmold. From 1958 one he was an active part of the success story of the Dietiker AG, firstly as operations manager and from 1964 to 1990 as managing director. The chairs and tables he designed in the late Fifties and early Sixties helped Dietiker AG to make their mark on the market. The model ‘2100’ launched in 1963, today called the Bandixen Chair, is the classic model in the Dietiker collection.
