This Weber

This Weber, born in 1973 in Zurich, trained mechanic, studied jewellery and industrial design at Zurich University of the Arts. After the completion of his studies in 1999, he worked as industrial designer at Haeberli Marchand Product Development (Zurich). The following year, Weber worked in the field of product development at Gebrüder Thonet GmbH (Frankenberg D). From 2001 to 2004, he worked on projects for clients such as Eternit, Embru, ICF Italia, Steelcase and Gebrüder Thonet GmbH at Christophe Marchand Product Development (Zurich). At the end of 2004, he changed his place of employment and supported the field of furniture design at Hannes Wettstein’s design agency. Together with Wettstein, This Weber developed products for national and international clients. Several projects won design prizes and international awards. Under his own name, he designed the wooden chair collection Ono for Dietiker Switzerland. After Hannes Wettstein’s death in July 2008, Weber being responsible for questions of furniture and product design became member of the management board of Studio Hannes Wettstein. In April 2010, This Weber opened his own studio in Zurich and, from this time on, worked for several clients at home and abroad. Since autumn 2010, he has been teaching furniture design as visiting lecturer in the faculty Design & Art at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Art.
